Common valve types and uses
1. Ball valve The opening and closing part is a ball, which is driven by the valve stem and rotates 90° around the axis of the ball valve to open or close. It can also be used for fluid regulation and control. In the pipeline, it is mainly used to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium. It has good sealing, convenient operation, rapid opening and closing, simple structure, small size, low resistance, and light weight.
2. Gate valve The opening and closing part is the gate. The movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. It is mainly used to cut off the medium in the pipeline. It can flow in any direction on both sides. It is easy to install, easy to operate, has a smooth channel, a small flow resistance, and a simple structure.
3. Butterfly valve The opening and closing part is a butterfly plate, which is driven by the valve stem and rotates 90° around its own axis in the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening, closing or regulation. It is mainly used to cut off the medium in the pipeline. It has the characteristics of simple structure, flexible operation, fast opening and closing, small size, short structure, small resistance and light weight.
4. Globe Valve The opening and closing parts of the globe valve are plug-shaped valve discs. The sealing surface is flat or conical. The valve disc moves linearly along the center line of the valve seat to achieve opening and closing. The globe valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. It is mainly used to cut off the medium in the pipeline. It has the characteristics of simple structure, easy installation, convenient operation, smooth channel, small flow resistance and simple structure.
5. Check valve refers to a valve that automatically opens and closes the valve disc by relying on the flow of the medium itself to prevent the backflow of the medium. It is also called a check valve, a one-way valve, a reverse flow valve, and a back pressure valve. The check valve is an automatic valve. Its main function is to prevent the backflow of the medium, the reversal of the pump and the drive motor, and the discharge of the container medium.
6. Control valve also known as control valve, is the final control element in the field of industrial automation process control, which changes the process parameters such as medium flow, pressure, temperature, and liquid level by receiving the control signal output by the control control unit and using power operation. It is generally composed of an actuator and a valve, and can be divided into pneumatic control valves, electric control valves, and self-acting control valves.
7. Solenoid valve is a combination of an electromagnetic coil and a straight-through or multi-way valve. It can be divided into two types: normally open and normally closed. It controls the switch or switches the flow direction of the medium through AC220V or DC24 power supply. It is an automation basic element used to control the fluid. The selection of solenoid valves should first follow the four principles of safety, reliability, applicability, and economy.
8. Safety valve The opening and closing parts are in a normally closed state under the action of external force. When the medium pressure in the equipment or pipeline exceeds the specified value, it prevents the medium pressure in the pipeline or equipment from exceeding the specified value by discharging the medium outside the system. Special valves. Safety valves belong to the automatic valve category, which are mainly used for boilers, pressure vessels and pipelines to play an important protective role.
9. Needle Valve is an important part of the instrument measurement pipeline system. It is a valve that can accurately adjust and cut off the fluid. The valve core is a very sharp cone. It is generally used for smaller flow and higher pressure gas or liquid. The structure is similar to the stop valve. Its function is to open or cut off the pipeline passage.
10. Trap Valve is also called steam trap, also known as drain valve. It is used to discharge condensate, air and carbon dioxide gas in the steam system as soon as possible. It is an energy-saving product. Choosing a suitable steam trap can make the steam heating equipment reach the highest working efficiency. To achieve the most ideal effect, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the working performance and characteristics of various types of steam traps.
