Electric Ball Valve Material WC6 DN250 PN25 Remote Automation Control
Product Overview
Electric ball valves are a common type of valve that control the flow of media through the rotation of a ball. This model is equipped with an electric actuator, enabling remote or automatic control. Compared to manual ball valves, it is more convenient and efficient to operate. It is suitable for piping systems that require frequent adjustments or remote control. It is widely used in many industries, including petroleum, chemical, and power.

An electric ball valve primarily consists of an electric actuator and a ball valve.
Its operating principle is as follows:
Electric Actuator Operation
The electric actuator is a key component for automated control of an electric ball valve. It typically contains a motor, a reduction gear, a position feedback device, and control circuitry.
Receiving a Control Signal: When a control system (such as a distributed control system (DCS) or programmable logic controller (PLC)) issues a valve opening or closing command signal (which can be a current signal such as 4-20mA, a voltage signal such as 0-10V, or a digital signal), the control circuit within the electric actuator receives the signal.
Motor Operation: The control circuit processes and converts the signal, driving the motor to begin operation. The motor's speed is typically high, making it unsuitable for direct valve operation.
Reduction Gear: A reduction gear (such as a gearbox) converts the motor's high speed and low torque into a low speed, high torque output to meet the torque requirements for valve opening and closing.
How a Ball Valve Works
The core component of a ball valve is the ball, which has a circular through-hole. During the opening process, the electric actuator's output shaft rotates the ball valve stem, which in turn rotates the ball. When the ball rotates until its through hole aligns with the pipeline axis, the medium (such as gas or liquid) can flow smoothly through the valve. The valve is now in the open position, allowing normal flow in the pipeline.
When the valve needs to be closed, the electric actuator reverses the valve stem, rotating the ball 90 degrees. The solid portion of the ball blocks the pipeline passage, preventing the flow of the medium. The valve is closed, blocking the flow of the medium in the pipeline.
Position Feedback Mechanism
Electric ball valves are typically equipped with a position feedback device, such as a potentiometer or Hall effect sensor. During the valve opening and closing process, the position feedback device monitors the ball's rotational position in real time and provides feedback to the control system on the actual valve opening. This allows the control system to monitor the valve's status at all times, enabling precise control and monitoring. It can also promptly detect valve malfunctions (such as the valve failing to reach the specified opening as instructed). Through the coordinated work of electric actuators and ball valves, electric ball valves can realize automated and remote medium on-off control, and are widely used in industrial fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, electric power, water supply and drainage, as well as some civil occasions with high requirements for automation.
